We have set a date of sunday 30th october for lionhearts to be held at Steve's stadium of fingers in southend.

it has sensibly suggested that for those of us coming from the west it would save money to car share.

I can fit five in my car and i am happy to drive and share petrol costs for those who are coming from anyhwere near this area.

It's not just approximately 6 hours driving for a flick. It also means that I would spend precious little time there, if I wanted to then make it back for the kids bedtime, which I place a far greater value on. Throw in the cost, and it becomes prohibitive.

Excellent can't wait...it's gonna be mayhem.

I'm bringing my fav team for this special occasion. The boys have been training, not since the early 80's for most of them. Some like Tom are still keeping fit with their postman rounds though. Cheese is running his pub still, so won't be leaping like a Salmon anymore...and the last time i saw Gerry Gow he still looked hard as nails...so watch out boys. I've been stretching as well...for those hard to reach flicks... Laughing

I can concur there will be many tippy-toe moments, where enthusiastic lionhearts will attempt (forlornly) to get behind the player they are shooting with!! scratch

It will be Ok if you've warmed up with a game on one of the other tables first, but Jon and Lee are first up in the Stadium of Fingers, and are both dead certs for hamstring pulls for the rest of the afternoon! Laughing

Just a quick note re some roadworks near the venue.
When you get pretty close to the venue, te right turn of the A13 may not be accessible. If not, just do the next available right and wiggle your way round that way...

I'm really gutted, I've left it to the last minute, hoping i'd feel better, but i've had Flu and a temperature all week. I'd hate to pass it on, and tbh, I feel like crap.

An oversight on my part - should've included one from the floodlit game.

Here's a couple of minutes showing a few camera angles, a bit of banter, a close effort from Lee, the use of both a corner-kicker and throw-in figure, and a goal by Jim to boot! Smile
