Yesterday Ute came round mine for a few games. As we've not played in the WRP7 league for about 6 weeks we were both itching to have a game!

We played with a mixture of LW, HW and modern bases.

The teams were as follows:

Puffin's teams:

Completely Crap Communist Party (CCCP)
Hotshots

Uteubo's teams:

Warndon Wanderers
Jen Dobra

Game 1:
CCCP (LW) 0 - 2 Warndon Wanderers (LW)

Game 2:
Hotshots (sureshots) 3 - 0 Jen Dobra (sureshots)

Game 3:
Jen Dobra (sureshots) 4 - 2 CCCP (LW)

Game 4:
Warndon Wanderers (LW) 1 - 2 Hotshots (HW)

CCCP seem to have been hampered by their name. Probably explains why Grimsby have never won the League. Laughing

Good stuff!
Reminds me of playing when I was younger - me, 2 brothers and Dad...
Started in 1976 with just 12 teams, and ended up with 50 teams and 5 divisions
When 2 of your own teams played you had to play with your favourite one, (which meant that each person had to list their teams in order of preference at the start of the season).

Yes, I believe they were - although might have been Tiger & Score...?

So this means you will be playing CCCP v Hotshots, and Warndon Wanderers v Jen Dobra?

...and here's a fuller pic of the league cutouts (taken about 3 years ago)

Yes, GREAT MEMORIES.
Those tabbed league tables were the business!
They do MAGNETIC ones now.

I'm sure we'll round to it at some point in the near future. Really enjoyed playing with all the different types of bases. Ute is quality with LW's, he really rockets the shots in. I'm useless at shooting with them!

Nice one Puffin dude. Was a very enjoyable afternoon mate. Those early heavyweights out did my boys . Should have stayed with the Lw ref 28s instead of me Aldershot 285s??? Warndon are sore after this mix up . Need a rematch soon????

Also love the shoot tab chart I had a few over the years probably in the big incinerator in the sky now? oh its great to see the 3rd and 4th divisions.

Why has football become so eliteist n money driven? it has killed the game for me.

Hotshots are dam hot!!!

I had the magnetic version ..bought it through either Shoot or Match in about 1980 you could buy it with plain labels and then add your own team names which I did for my Scottish League with the good old dymo tape..sadly lost in the mists of time. We still have the home made one though but its out of use as the pastic tab things are getting very brittle...
